Is acupuncture painful?

No, acupuncture is generally not painful. The needles are very thin – much thinner than an injection needle. Most people feel at most a small prick during insertion. During the treatment, many people actually feel deep relaxation.

How often do I need to come?

That varies per person and per complaint. Some people notice improvement after one treatment, others need multiple sessions. Usually I recommend weekly treatments in the beginning, after which the frequency can decrease. Together we determine a treatment plan that suits you.

Does my health insurance cover acupuncture?

Many supplementary insurances (partially) cover acupuncture. This varies per insurer and policy. I am KAB certified, which means that my treatments are reimbursed by most insurers. Always check your own policy.
